Living Wills: Many people fear what should happen if they became seriously ill and were unable to make medical decisions. We can draft living wills quickly and for a fixed fee. Contact us for more information.

Estate Management: Many clients choose for us to be executors of their will and to manage their estates after they are gone. Frequently Asked Questions

We always do it in 2 stages – a first meeting with a questionnaire after which a draft is prepared for approval. The second meeting is to check that your instructions have been fully and correctly implemented. A week is our aim. Emergency Wills can be done the same day.

People who die without a Will may have inadvertently left their assets to people who they did not want to receive that benefit. This is because if you pass away without a Will then the intestacy rules apply. Worst of all, that can even mean that the Government is effectively your beneficiary.

We will give basic advice but we are not financial advisors or tax experts. If your estate is likely to be above the Inheritance tax threshold you should get independent advice that we can arrange for you.

Yes. The reason people use a Solicitor is because it can be difficult and time-consuming. We regularly deal with estates for very capable people who simply feel that their time and effort is best spent elsewhere.

We try and get it done in about 6 months but it is like asking how long is a piece of string? It really does depend on the case. 12 months is not unusual.

There are two types, Welfare and Finances. Lasting powers replaced the Enduring powers of Attorney and made the process better. Welfare deals with situations when the ability to deal with your health is affected and the Finance one deals with appointing someone to potentially manage your affairs.

There are good reasons to always make a Will, no matter your circumstances. You may want to appoint people to look after your affairs with Lasting Powers of Attorney. Consider who you would want to be in control of distributing your estate after your death? Do you wish to make gifts to charity? Make a list of all of your assets and keep it updated. There is a lot we can recommend and advise our clients that goes beyond simply drawing up legal documents.

It is really not expensive. We charge £480 including VAT for a standard Will. £900 plus VAT for a Lasting Power of Attorney and a minimum of £1500 plus VAT or 1% of the estate, for Probate.
